With the help of the Holy Spirit we at St. Anthony’s will continue the mission of Jesus in leading others to God the Father through Sacred Scripture and the traditions of the Catholic Church. Through instruction and formation of conscience, we will help those entrusted to us to deepen their Catholic Christian faith and understand the need for ongoing conversion. This, in turn, will lead to a true sense of community, vital prayer and worship experience, and a devotion to justice and service in the Lord’s name.

  • The object of catechesis is communion with Jesus Christ. Catechesis leads people to enter the mystery of Christ, to encounter him, and to discover themselves and the meaning of their lives in him . . .The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ. . .   National Directory for Catechesis #19B
  • To follow the Gospel of Our Lord, Jesus Christ in our daily lives and to lead the parish children and their families to the same by our teaching and our example.
  • To increase awareness that our Sunday worship is the source and center of our Faith expression.
  •  To help and encourage children to identify and experience Catholic Christian traditions with the ability to live and explain them to the best of their developmental capacity.

Parent's Role in Religious Education

The Church teaches that the primary responsibility for the spiritual growth and development of children rests first and foremost with their parents. Parents may share this responsibility with others, but they do not relinquish it.
